I received this info from BDM yesterday:

"The web site is currently scheduled to go live with all available 2009 information and photography this weekend."

Also, got this info regarding my question about saddlebags for a K9:

"There is a hard saddlebag accessory with a leatherette cover in the works to fit all of our 300 rear tire softail models (2006 thru 2009 K9, 2007 Bulldog and 2007 thru 2009 Mastiff). The saddlebags will be easily removable for cleaning or maintenance. There will be mounting hardware and bag supports visible when the saddlebags are removed. On our home page, Big Dog Motorcycles, check rotating photo #2 in the center header which shows a Black K9 with the prototype hard saddlebags in place."

I would want to see what the permanent mounting brackets look like when the bags are removed, as I've seen other bikes with "removable bags" whose brackets were pretty ugly. Might be better off just going the Raywood-route on longer trips and T-bag it behind rider seat/on luggage rack and forget about saddlebags. We'll see:eek: ....Enjoy!

I went over to the website and copied the pictures.

What do you think? May have to grow on me some! Of course it would only be dressed up like that on long trips or commuting.

I don't know, not sold on the idea of "bags on a chopper". I realize the use for them but it's just not quite right, seeing a sleek, smooth, custom looking bike with bolt on bags. I think it takes away from the bike. I guess if you need to pack up for a long haul there are other ways of accomplishing that, just ask Ray and Knotso, they get it done all the time.

They do nothing for me. I don't live in Michigan anymore so I don't have to carry a jacket, just the T-Shirt I left home with!!!!

I wish I had more money.
I think they would be great for the longer trips without a doubt. If the hardware looked alright I would think about the retro fitting onto a 240 tire bike.

I believe, and I know many of you reading here do too, that if you can't pack it in a T-Bag and a Tail Bag ....you don't need it!

However, sometimes there is a lady involved. And, we men do what we men must do.

I don't like how those bags look on a chopper. Less on the bike the better.
Isn't that what a chopper(chop) is about?

Woah!!!! I don't know if I'm sold on a chopper with bags yet or not, but IF I was..I would definitely go this route. Great job, TopShelf Scott!!! But I think there are ways around saddlebags, as Raywood has so aptly shown us.:up:

You should submit your drawing to Big Dog as a paint scheme idea for their new Bulldog Bagger, which will have a fairing and hard fiberglas bags...now that would be wild!!!:whoop: :eek:

I have a Roadking as well, thanks. Sometimes people are just looking for the best of both worlds. Why not just leave it "to each, his own"? :loony: :lol: :rolleyes:
