The wider you go the harder it will be to corner...more rubber to push over.

I have been waiting for that bike to come since I heard about it. I first bought a 2004 Ridgeback when they came out, now I have a 2005 Ridgeback. I had plans on buying a 2008 when it came out, but I can not get over the look of the tiny ass 17" wheel on the rear compared to my 18" with the 300. The 17" is too small. Anyway, I love my 300 compared to the 250. Not much difference at all. I would have bought a 2008 if they would have done a 18" wheel on it. I just don't like the looks. (maybe it is just that huge seat that makes the wheel look small?)

Look at how small it looks:

I didn't realize they went down to a 17" in the rear... that is gay. Should have went up on both ends.

The pic does not do it justice. It's a nice looking bike except for the 17" rear and the huge ass seat. If you think the seat is big in pictures, in person it's huge!!!

I had another picture that showed the "Lazy Boy" tag on the seat, but the rear wheel didn't show as well!!

If you look close, you can see the recliner handle on the side of the seat. Hell if you want, you can take the seat off, take it in the house and kick back and watch a movie.

I asked a sales guy about the new wheel size and the answer given was that the tire needed to be more rounded on the pavement side to handle as well as it does with that wise ass tire. So instead of having a too tall tire, they reduced the height of the wheel. Thus the tire can roll easier thru the corners.
Pics do not do that tire justice, you gotta see that thing in person to realize how wide it really is.
The seat just may make the hardtail comfortable on longer rides.
Personally, I think the 2006-2007 ridgeback is the best looking bike in the lineup.

Yeah F those huge seats...

You can see the difference in this pic.... the middle is a "normal" seat

They kind of look like push up seats for the shorter stature people. Maybe they offer a different seat as an option.

The 2006 Ridgeback is a nice looking bike, why did they have to f&*# it up. What's next 400 rear, 450?????? You won't need a kickstand before long.

It just the push seat thats thick like that usually for guys under 5'6" or with extended front controls. The mechanic at my dealer always has to put one of these on my bike when he test rides it he cant reach the extended controls easy without it.

Are you saying the pics we've posted are the push seat? Cause they're not. I can't even imagine what the push seat is.. but that wasn't one. Its the "new" design seat. Rumor has it the push seat is the back cushion off your sofa!
