jimizee do you work for bigdog? cause i gotta tell ya since this thread ive gotten 20 emails stating there glad someone spoke out about these bikes, and guess what they all own 2005's.. i wont sell the bike i do like it i never said i didnt like riding it,or even fixing it,im just stating that bigdog should at the most part review the problems with the 2005 models,it was there first 300 tire and 117 with rightside drive ,i believe. and its just like anything else you have to work the bugs out,but and i say but when certain people pay 30,000+ for a bike they should take a look at certain things and try to make good for it and not cost the owner a dime,i feel if they changed up certain things on the bikes in 06,07,08 then they obviously new there were to many problems with the 05, as far as getting tired at reading my post bashing the bike, dont read it pal,im a little tired of always signing on and reading all the poor guys out there with all these problems ,just take a look at the tech threads,"another trans bites the dust" or another ehc gone or another clutch hub broke or please help my dog took a shit lastnight..not for nothing these things happen everything breaks, but and i say but again why is it the samething for just about everybody on here with a 2005? and i love the bike pic is that your first ride? lol

To address this questions is fairly simple.... post a poll asking if current Big Dog owners were able would they buy another new Big Dog... lets see how many of us would do it again...

Me... no question, I would buy another one in a second.

Thanks you guys for this thread. I have been a bit nervice about buying a big dog because of all of the problems I hear about them but this one help put me at ease soom what. From this thread I deside dto call the local big dog dealer here in Tucson and the owner of the store said that if I brink the bike in and have them look at it and its running fine they can sale me a warrenty for 3 years on it for 1800.00. They have some nice ones on their show room floor but it like 10g less if I by one used from someone.

I agree Al......I have had my little problems , but nothing to complain about...everything has been taking care of....but all in all.....I wouldn't trade my dog for anything!:2thumbs: I enjoy riding my scoot.....every chance I get...and I am proud to be a Big Dog owner!:whoop:
I second Chopper Dave!! No doubt, I don't even consider any other motorcycle. Not any other brand or style. My Dog is all I have ever dreamed of. Second to none.:2thumbs: I urgently await every single time I get to throw my leg over my Chopper. It never disappoints me.

Its like most forms you meet a lot of people and make new friends and hear about all the troubles every one is having and every one jumps in with their two cents worth and tries to help.Thats why you see all the problems, I rode a Harley Davidson before I got my dog, and just go to Harley Tech. Talk and you can see all the troubles that they have also and there are a lot.Any thing that you can think of.will be on it.But the people on this form are a step up and Ive been around for a while and seen a lot.

My Dog IS the badest in SA and South Texas to me!!! There is no other Chopp I would ride!!! " Don't you just feel independat riding a Flow Blown Custom" . Every time I ride I feel like a Rock Star!!!! And the Dog knows it.:2thumbs::2thumbs::2thumbs::2thumbs:

I agree...i love my ridgeback. my buddy rides a softail harley and when we pull up to a red light or stop at a store noone looks at his ride but they circle my dog like vultures :):) only reason i have had any trouble with my dog is due to a bad mechanic shop i took it to.

You are right on brother. These bikes may have some troubles, but nothing that I have not been able to fix on my own. They are, as you state, the performance machine that needs some tlc. I also love to hop on mine and go for a blast. It kind of reminds me of my old '50 pan head chop that took a lot of tinkering. It vibrated, was noisy, and needed to be ridden hard. My Big Dog is much more powerful and more reliable. I love it, but I have 2 other bikes that I can ride. So, if the Big Dog needs work I can hop on my road bike, or on my sport bike.

...What you don't hear is the Hundreds of us that have all our little problems straightened out and are very happy with our Dogs.
Yes some of us have had problems, but the company has taken care of most all of them. BESIDES, I LOVE RIDING MY BIKE!...nuf' said! Al
:iagree: This is my 2nd Big Dog, having had little or no problems with either one (knock on wood!:yesnod:).

I'd owned 6 Harleys before (including 2 CVO Anniversary bikes), and NONE compare to the adrenaline rush and enjoyment I've experienced on the Big Dogs.

The issues (which are few and far between) with the bikes are one of the very reasons the forum exists. I am not going to start a topic about having a nice ride over the weekend that was uneventful... even though that's what happens 99.9% of the time. What would be interest in that kind of talk.

I bought my 03 BULLDOG with 8,000 miles on it last year. I have only put 1,300 miles on it this year and it has been flawless. I went to the Wildwood Roar to the shore this year and got lots of thumbs up!! After a long a day of work there is no other way to blow off some steam other than getting on the DOG and blasting down the road PRICLESS!!!

Agrees Al ,, and everyone else as well,,, I never had a warranty,, I just rode it out the road about 10 miles to see if it was ok,,, got it ,,, spent the winter cleaning it up,,, worked on it quite a bit too since then with the help of all ya'll,,,,I don't take it out and do burn outs and stuff like that,,, cruize the back roads with my Go-Pro,,, & enjoy it much more than any bike I have ever riden... People can say what they want about them,, the goldwing people never ask me to ride with them,,:job:,, the rough neck club asks me to ride any time I want too,,:2thumbs:,,I had a guy of a scooter, scooter :moped: give me the finger one day ,,, made me lol,,,,, Most times I ride like the "Lone Ranger" by myself,,, but my wife ask me the other day "Have you ever been out when somone wasn't making good comments about it?"

Really why would you want to ride anything else? I have rode mine over 500 miles in a day,, couldn't feel my but the last few miles but neither could the people riding the harleys.

Ray :2thumbs:
