Deceleration popping

Popping on deceleration is caused by a LEAN condition. When you suddenly close the throttle, the incoming air is choked off and the closed throttle also causes the bike to return to idle on the very lean idle circuit. However, momentum of the bike is actually "driving" the engine in a sense, and that engine is still spinning at rpm that needs far more gas than the closed throttle position can provide. The engine is still spinning but the incoming fuel rate is very low, until just enough builds up in the combustion chamber to "fire" on the exhaust stroke of the engine.
EXCELLENT description.

Hey guys it's awesome!!! I put the .033 in and removed the auxiliary bowl vent plug and it runs like a raped ape!!! As for the deceleration popping it's gone it's more like a gurgle or growling I would say a growling and its not that bad of a growling so thanks to all of you for your support and help I really appreciate everything that you have done for me.

Great to hear, their PDF is a great place to start, and though some will say .033 is too big, no 2 are alike because of tolerances:old2:

I watched S&S's carb tuning videos and when they were tuning the air fuel screw clockwise the idle sped up and when I put the.033 intermediate jet in it was the first time that it sped up when I turned it clockwise. That told me right then that I had the right jet because it never sped up before when I would turn the air fuel screw clockwise. I will do some more riding today and put it through some more tests I might even benefit from a .034 but time will tell. You are absolutely right about the fact that every bike is different on there own then you have to factor in all of the modifications that have been done to the bike. Do you have a preference in spark plugs I know that Curtis sells Champion, NGK Iridium and E3. I have tried the NGK Iridiums and no I am trying the E3 plugs they have done a lot of testing and they give you the most complete burn in the combustion chamber. Their are supposed to give you more hp and better fuel mileage.

I know that a spark is all that you need but E3 has a lot of data behind their spark plugs. I know that all companies hype their products but E3 has a lot of scientific studies behind their product.

Well I am not sure that it's just hype. Curtis at Wild Stead Works is promoting them on his website.

I have tried E3's a few years back, no difference in my opinion, but if you'd like to try them there's no harm in that. Just sayin don't expect to feel any difference.

You should go to their website and check it out you might find it interesting. I like the NGK Iridium plugs but I am going to try the E3'S and see if I notice anything like more power and or better gas mileage.

Well since you just upped your jet size, you certainly won't see better gas mileage. And any increase in power would be coming from the increase in fuel (larger jet), and the fact that you now have your carb dialled in. As I said, I have tried the E3's out and there was no difference at all, other than the cost of them. Once again it's just my opinion, take it or leave it..

I believe you, I wasn't going to try them right away I have to get myself dialed in on the new setup before I would be able to notice anything anyway. I was just hoping that they might aid me in some fuel mileage. But I have been using the NGK Iridiums for a while add I really like them I give the throttle 2 twists and just barely bump the starter button and it fires right up every time and I am talking cold starts.

Maybe I'm just creature of habit, when something works I stick with it..

I can understand that to many things these days don't perform the way they say they do so sticking with what you know works is a great policy.

It took me a bit to get mine dialled in, not much info to compare with. I put a Woods 630 cam in, not very common choice, but trial and error got it optimized (with the help of the guys at bikers dream of Atlanta). Now I just stick with what works..
