Battery/Oil Tank Cover

Has anyone had the plastic cover under seat on K9 crack where the back to bolts go in? The front 2 bolt holes are okay, but the plastic around the bolt holes have cracked on the back 2. I think I can make a small bracket with 2 holes and drill 2 real small in plastic to help secure it, but I wanted to see if anyone else has had a similar problem? Thanks.

Yeah, it's fairly common. I bought a new cover for my right side, but need to get it painted.

I had it happen to both sides on my Mastiff, I did what your talking about. Made two small brackets, counter sunk the the holes in the plastic so the heads on the small screws I used wouldn't touch the frame. Has worked like a champ so far (did it a year ago).

Bigdog had an update on the hardware holding the covers in place to prevent them from cracking. They also replaced them on warranty back in the day. Some people have used a fiberglass kit to re-inforce them. I had mine replaced on warranty and still re-inforced them when i installed them.
