03 Chopper Belt width??

I have a wierd sound comming from the rear sprocket area when I accelerate. I noticed there is about an eighth of an inch of play between my belt and my rear sprocket. I measured my belt width an it's 1.275, Does that seem worn down to anyone? I only think it's the belt because when I put dressing on the belt it stop's making the noise for awhile, but then it comes back. Can someone give me some info please....:bang: :bang: :bang:

That does not seem good. On my 04 the belt is a 1.500 wide and the rear pulley checks 1.545 which is very little clearance and I'm pretty sure the 03's were the same.

I agree with Al, It wasn't rubbing on you drive side brake is it? Check your belt with air ride up and down for clearance.
