Mastiff vs K9

Alright I have it narrowed down to 2 bikes now, the K9 and the Mastiff. Looking to buy 2006 or 2007 model on either one. Can anyone tell me their thoughts on the 2, have you rode both of them and a good comparison. I got a month to do my research and then I will have my money to buy one of these dogs.:D

Thanks for help, you guys are awesome with the feedback.

I've owned both and I prefer the K-9. I like the "down in the bike" feel of the K-9. Didn't get that with the Mastiff. Mastiff riding position is very similiar to my HD Nighttrain. Both handle great, ride great and run great. I think the K-9 is a bit more comfortable riding with a passenger but that is probably due to being down in the bike more. Just my opinions. Best to try them both out yourself. Even if you can't get a ride on each...at least sit on them to compare.

Who cares about the ride. It's about the look!! Get what looks sick to you. If you want a good ride get a Goldwing. Lol

Go for a ridgeback any year or a 2006 Pitbull.

I went with the Mastiff mainly because it fits my needs. I'm 5' 7" with a 30" inseam, so I'm short. Test rode both before buying and went the pro street avenue. Suggest if you can, they them both out to see which one fits your riding needs...:2thumbs:

I started off wanting a Mastiff until I rode the Chopper. Rode them both and now there's a Chopper in the garage and no regrets.

Definitely ride both of them on the same stretch of road if possible and put them through the paces. It's the only way your going to be able to make a good decision. You can listen to all us but when YOU ride them, you'll know.

Either way, get ready for a bunch of attention!!!!!!!

Sounds like some crappy feedback there. :job:
Who cares about the ride? 99% of us that went with the soft tail and spent the extra couple bucks for it! Best decision I've made. I test drove a rigid before buying my soft tail...can we say back problems?!

Better feedback would be to test ride both models and get what feels best to you. I liked the K9 for that "sitting inside" the bike feel. Drive a nice 300-400 mile day on a rigid and see what shape that leaves you in...you probably won't be able to walk the next day, or even get out of bed. I taken long trips on my ride, and I don't see where the soft tail compromises any of the looks!

I'm on board with that down low in the bike feeling. Both my choppers are low and I go and ride a Dyna or Road King and I sit there going, what the hell and I doing up here! Then there's the low rider that I rode from the back seat last year when I took it ot the shop for my buddy who had just been run over after getting off it. car - him- bike -- Of course, he's now known as SpeedBump for that trick.

Get what you feel feels best for you and ride!

Thanks for all the feedback. Looks like the K9 is a good choice. I love the look of the Mastiff a lot. I will ride both before choosing. Thanks everyone.

It's like which LCD, LED, Backlit, Full Array HD TV to get. It will all be good when you get it home and then you don't even remember what the other ones look like ... you will love the one that sits in the garage at night and on the road at day ... (I don't like riding at night ... too many goof balls at night ... sorry if any of you like riding at night)
I wish I could buy both or three or four ... lol ... :D

K-9 is hot but I like the long low long look of pro street. Mastiff it is for me. Rode them both and they both feel good, tough choice. Good luck.
