Wanted - 3 Degree 41mm Triple Tree and Misc. Parts/Info

Hello all, I'm rebuilding a 2003 Chopper (RT Frame) and I've been searching for a 3 Degree Triple Tree for 41mm forks so that I can assemble my front end. If you happen to be around central or north Florida or south Georgia that would be great, willing to drive a little as necessary. The bike is being rebuilt from the frame up so I'm also interested in any other compatible '03 Chopper parts.

Anyone with a line on a service manual with the IPB of the front end or the chassis assembly for the Rolling Thunder 250 Softail BDM Chopper to help the assembly would be very, very, appreciated.

I'm stationed in North Florida (Navy) so some time and resources are limited but I'm fighting to make it work and have a functional chopper to call my own. I have a lot of HD stuff floating around too if trades are preferred.

If anyone is curious the Roller in my profile picture is the one being rebuilt. Just had the frame and swing arm shot in Prismatic Powders Carl's Copper. Tins are pearl white with candy blue on the side and blue/white pinstriping. Hope is to have it done by Biketoberfest.

So yeah...digging around to find a 3 Degree Triple Tree with internal fork stops and an internal fork stop kit to build the front end. Budget is a factor haha

Looks like a cool project. There should be some triple trees around. I purchased a set from a member on here with the Big Dog name engraved in them. They were not all that expensive. Have you tried Bigdogpartsking?

No, is it an Ebay Storefront? Simple unmarked work just as well. Corrosion is fine too, and long as they're structurally sound, I can sand blast off surface corrosion.

I have a set 3 Degree 41 MM. I took it off my 2006 Mastiff and added the Gothic Trees I not home right now but will be by Friday the 22 of June. It has everything on it, stem, bearings internal fork stop. They need to be polished big time, I can send you pictures when I get home if your interested.

It has everything on it, stem, bearings internal fork stop. They need to be polished big time, I can send you pictures when I get home if your interested.

Definitey interested, polishing I don't mind. I saw a set up for $75 but they were powdercoated black But let me know when you're back and we can go from there. It's slow going for me for several reasons, 1. it's a franken-chopper, 2. lack of in-depth schematics due to BDM of that era being gone, so it's a lot of educated guessing, 3. I'm mechanically inclined but admittedly have an intermediate skill level and that's being generous. Which is why I'm so motivated to build one myself

I put the Progressive Shocks and swing arm, the rear fender and home made fender struts on tonight. Theres approx 1/4 gaps on the shock bolts even though they're seemingly all the way in. I'm guessing I either have the wrong bolts or need washers/spacers to fill the gaps? Next will be the trees when acquired, possibly pulling the old cups and installing the new cups and internal stop hardware. Need to find a removal and installation set. And possibly a cup set. I'm just happy she's actually getting some much needed attention!

I'll peel the cover off of the drivetrain in the background eventually and post a pic. Ultima 113 package plus work on the heads so it should ideally dyno well beyond the factory 120/120. Backed by a 6 speed Ultima and a BDL 3" Belt Drive. Full honesty I'm not 100% I can run the Belt drive that size with the kickstand location. I also have the feeling that this thread will morph into a "Help this FNG dude build a chopper" thread lol

Whoever did your powdercoat of paint on the frame should have taped off the engine mounts and transmission mounts.
You may want to put some painters tape on them drop them in and trace around the the motor and the transmission and use a disk sander to remove the paint. If the paint gets removed it could cause a misalignment in the drive train.

I am on my third build, my latest is converting an 04 pitbull to a ridgeback.

That is some kind of custom fender....it looks like maybe a 2004 chopper but the axle molding looks off. You sure it's a big dog frame? Just wondering
