Are tanks worth repairing?

I'm being told I have 2 quarter size dents in my tank. Am I better off having the tank repaired, or is the price of bodywork offset the price of a new tank? Anybody know where to find a new K9 tank?

Live with the patina, love the patina. Paint will never match the [alleged ] fade of the other painted parts.

I figure either way I'm going to have to paint. Is painless dent removal an option on a tank?
Think you meant paintless.

Doesn't make sense if you are painting.

Don't sweat dents if you are painting anyway. That is 99.999999% of the cost.

Filling a couple small dents is pretty much normal prep.

I don't have a before picture, but just to the rear of the fuel bung, between there and the stripe was a dent 1 1/2'' in dia and almost 3/16'' deep.

The crash lay you up that bad? Thought you were ok.
I've got bad knees. And unfortunately when the bike went down, it landed on my right fioot (which caused major swelling) and the weight of my body went down on my left knee. So I didn't have a good leg. But it gets better every day. Of course if I'd have gone to the Emergency room I'd probably have gotten meter melds to get rid of the swelling, but, the cost just wasn't justifiable considering that nothing was broken.

Nice. We'll have to talk after I can evaluate it. If it's just the tank then I'm thinking of fixing it. If either of the fenders are damaged, then I'm leaning toward a full tear down & color change.

Yup, paintless. Damn autocorrect. If I can get around painting, then I can put that money elsewhere. At that point I'd make this bike my rider, and find a deal on another bike to customize. However if I have to do much in th line of paint, then I'll customize this one & buy a rider.
