Bring It!
just switched the valve and pulled the front vaccum hose off and there is signs of oil. I guess the valve being backwards was giving motor to much crankcase pressure and blowing oil from the front head into the vaccum line and making it smoke.

Another round please
Can you just take off float bowl drain plug and stick a screwdriver in there and unscrew the main jet instead of removing entire bowl?

I have before you need a good wide blade screwdriver to keep from tearing up the brass jet. (same even if you pull the bowl)

Question

Is there a hose that goes to the front head also? Looks like a smaller diameter rubber hose going to the carb from the fron cylinder? can you shed some light on this Thanks JJ

Yea theres a hose about 1/8" or 3/16" from the front should go to the manifold not the carb.

Front puke hose

Thanks for helpin with my basic questions. That front hose......do you need to get that redirected to a puke can also?

No should plug into the intake manifold between the carb and the cylinder heads

Another option is to totally eliminate the front hose, just cap off the front head and the manifold. That hose is listed as optional in the SSW manual.

Few more ?s before I procede

Great post and feedback by everyone.
Have a few more questions
1. Why is it OK to just "plug" the front hose and connection point at the manifold? Does the front breather not produce the same pressure flows? seems strange that it would not.
2. Slow I know you have an 05. Is that jetted the same as my 08 117ci
3. Why is there not a one way valve on the front breather line?
Can I tie in both lines to a "y" fitting and run to the puke can?

Thanks.... Juice

Can't really answer your question on why the small line is on the front. Stock the small feeds to the manifold. the large to the carb. The manifold when the bike is running would have negative pressure do to the engine pulling in the fuel air mixture so it should pull vent from the small line. The larger line going to the air cleaner may have some positive presure due to air coming in the air cleaner more or less depending on your air cleaner set up. Somebody speak up if I be in correct.

Also like your bike here is a pic of mine ain't that the shit

Thanks for the thought

V. That makes sence on the size disparrity on the lines, delta is different at the two connection points.

OK... was getting ready to read up on how to change out the jets to fix a stumble I have around 70mph (Int jet). Start reading through this thread and all the pics are gone...? wtf?

Can anyone help with some visual guidance for this process...? Much appreciated.

Gas did a How-To on removing your carb. Take a look at it and it has good pics. You don't have to remove your carb to do it just drop the bowl (4 screws) and you can access the Int jet to change out. Hope this helps!
