Scubaman15 came up with an interesting Poll idea involving the Battery Tender.

    Here are the options:

    1. Never on a Tender
    2. Always on a Tender
    3. Only when getting ready for a ride
    4. Only during the Winter
    5. When away for extended periods of time
    6. When I think about it
    7. What is a Battery Tender?

If need be, we can add an option or two.

Vote your choice and perhaps tell us why..

During riding season when I'm on it every day or every other day I do not put it on the tender.
However when I don't ride for three days it's on the tender. :2thumbs:

Pretty much the same here, I have her rotate the tender between all the bikes so they get at least a coupel of days a week on each while I am gone.

Her Honda is still on it's orginal 8 year battery, the Buell is over 2 years and the Big Dog is coming on 2 years for the one now, the previous was 5 years.

A motorcycle with a computer or electronic ignition will drain a battery at the rate of 1% per day. It doesn't take long for the voltage to go below the minimum to fire the ignition. My son is horrible about using a tender. After 30 days his Harley won't start. Clearly he doesn't ride much. We bought our ultra's together, his has 4400 mile and I have 23400 miles.

Mine is only on the tender if it's in my sisters garage where I store it. If it's at home I don't have anywhere to plug it in unless I roll the bike into the living room of my apartment. I don't think the front door is wide enough for that anyway.
