What explanation of the push rods? As to why one had more thread showing then the others?? Idk.. did it 4 times which was very time consuming and got the same result every time..figured if something was wrong I would have heard it right away.. instead she fired right up and rumbled

So a bit of an update, after many different responses and so on I spoke with S&S and Cometic to get a straight answer because some are saying just re use the gaskets and just re torque to many different specs.. Cometic claims they test torque specs and stress points on many different engines and assure me that I'll be fine if I use their specs which are a 5 step process which is a slow and gradual torque. They also claim that if I don' use their specs my gaskets will never seal. So I ended up speaking with an engineer at s&s and he claims I should be fine and to use their specs. So I ordered new gaskets and I will use the specs they give me when they get here and let you all know how it goes.

He installed them here originally had the quickee Rods so 2 long and 2 short.

Longs in the front shorts in the back. Not sure how he installed them this time though, I didn't see this project.

So just an update, used a torque wrech to loosen the bolts to verify my torque which I did after I torqued them originally.. torque wrench set at 36 didnt snap once loosening the bolts up. One was finger loose. Gaskets not blown, just all leaking badly.. as far as the push rods go, the front intake was threaded less then the rear.. no one knows but it ran great for 100 miles, still ran great when I took her apart.. just leaking oil.. lol.. I'll throw the push rods in in the morning and do the adjustments and keep y'all posted

Is this your first S&S rebuild?
I am considering rebuilding the 107 , but the motor is one thing I don’t have experience on and really don’t want to f it up. I have tore a few down to the pistons but had a shop finish it. Just wondering on the difficulty?

Yeah, my first rebuild and actually very very east.. just should have followed my instincts on torque specs is all.. next time I'll fallow my gut for sure.. being an ASE mechanic for many many years I knew better to increase the torque in slower increments to crush metal gaskets to actually seal.. I'm sure u will be just fine. The know how was well worth every minute and the power will be well worth the money..

Okay, so after throwing new gaskets in her, following the Cometic torque specs and installing a new starter she seems good to go..

The second time he started it, that's what mine does sometimes. Kind of has to grunt through a cycle to get her going. I still have to check my battery though.
