Went ahead and just mounted the gauge on the oil tappet screen, it was the easiest way to go, there was no way mounting it on the rocker box would work, hit my thigh since I have 2.5" forward controls and I am only 5'-9" l am fairly well stretched out! Thank again to HA Y N for giving me the gauge!
Looks good John. I took the plunge so if it does not work out for me, may have a post in the swap meet section
Is anyone having problems with the heat damaging the gauge?
Good question. Maybe I should’ve waited before purchasing while getting some feedback. Oh well, live and learn.
My concern is heat coming off the metal gauge mount if it hits my thigh. May have to move it forward and swap air cleaner.
Looks good Wanker
Fortunately this is a relatively inexpensive upgrade. So if the heat does get to melting or damaging the clear gauge face, it won't cost you your 1st born to replace it or relocate it.
How long have you had yours on the bike BWG?
3 yrs and 4000 miles
Well there's our answer. The heat clearly isn't damaging the gauge.
My thoughts exactly
Was thinking of adding on, that set up looks really great.
I had a machine shop spin me up a oil temp gauge holder it work's great!
Where is it plumbed too? Tappet? My gauge kit came in today but I’m out of town and touch and go when I get back. Gone again over the weekend.
The oil temp gauge is connected to the tappet screen, But you get all the fitting's you need in the kit from jerzee.
I was referring to the temp gauge setup, curious as to the mount area used. Thanks for the info.
Yes Jerzee. Hopefully I’ll get it done next week when I’m home.
Yes, got the whole kit. Haven’t seen it yet though, working away this week to meet corporate needs. Wife is threatening to put it under the tree. Lol.
