I recently installed BDM tribal levers on my 2005 Ridgeback and followed Gasman excellent step by step tutorial...........my issue is that my clutch lever now rattles up and down and is loose; I found a thread to adjust the small plastic piece of plastic (cam) on the lever but it seems to me it is fixed only in the slotted position built into the lever for this; there is also a setscrew that you can adjust in/out and not sure if this is what I need to adjust out to take up the rattle slack which is driving me crazy.

Also on the front brake lever it seems my brake reacts to quickly and needs to be adjusted and the lever doesn't return to normal position like it used to.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thx

You need to adjust the set screw, it has a small ball and spring on the tip inside of the set screw. That should take care of the up and down movement. :old2:

Thx Carlos............leave the flat plastic piece with setscrew in center alone and adjust the set screw with plastic tip out to make the lever a tighter fit in housing.

Bringing this back to life. I did the same. I got the clutch lever sorted out but now my front brake lever will not spring all the way back. Any ideas?

I found the little set screw with the white plastic piece. It's broken. Anyone know where I can get one? Or what it's even actually called so I can look it up.

I thought I had saved the service manual but apparently all I have saved is the owners manual.

Ty. I appreciate it. I have 32. Need 33 that's the broken part. Also I found out I am missing 34. But that's on the clutch. What would adjust the brake lever and make it spring back to the normal position.

The spring in the master cylinder would return the brake lever, unless you have something binding the new lever when you put it together.

Ok. Now I'm trying to find the "spring plunger". I believe it's #8 on the diagram. Any help?

Are you wondering where to get one? Donna or Derek
or if ya have the old one, see what size thread it is and order a ball plunger with a nylon tip
    https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwjCs5bc0-nVAhUKySYKHS1xA1gQFggmMAA&url=http://www.mscdirect.com/&usg=AFQjCNGsy808KIFmh79mpjYJWcyzeYNI8w

Any way to see where the spring is? The lever is what's binding. The brake releases fully.

The spring is #9, but that's not your problem if its binding, either the new handle is not the same as stock or something is not put together right.
