I just copied this report form the noaa weather bouy station:

"TODAY
Hurricane conditions. Southeast winds 78 to 88 knots
with gusts to around 125 knots becoming southwest 75 to 85 knots
with gusts to around 115 knots in the afternoon. Seas 62 feet with
occasional seas up to 79 feet subsiding to 41 feet with
occasional seas up to 52 feet. Dominant period 12 seconds.
Protected waters extremely rough. Thunderstorms in the morning.
Showers through the day. Slight chance of thunderstorms in the
afternoon".

Homes at St George island had water at their roofline. In the bay storm surge 9-10’. Appalachicola is a war zone. Colleen’s aunt lives on the bay at PC and we’re watching through security cameras 45 miles north. Good friend in PC on the east side, his house is gone and 4 miles further east we’re his business was located is now a slab. He snuck in last night and went to check on everything. He called me on his way back to Destin where he road the storm out. He’s been through several hurricanes but he said nothing like this! Same with Colleen’s aunt she said this was a monster that threw down living hell for 4-5 hrs.

I would imagine that Mexico City is done also. Bad time for those folks.

This is so sad. What a mess Mother Nature brings! :(

I hope everyone is ok. This makes me want to check out the news which I have avoided since retirement because of all the bad news. I haven't looked at any internet news or TV news. I only look at today's weather for the daily planning.

sad part, Cape Sandblast & the State Park on the point acts like a protective barrier for parts of Mexico beach. I'm sure its a complete loss.Colleen's mom grew up living across the hwy from the beach on Mexico beach. little house was still there in June when we drove by.

We have members in the effected area. Last contact was yesterday around 11:23 pm. A tree had come down on their house.
Still waiting for news... impossible to get into the area unless you are a resident, or emergency service personell, at the moment.

Another low pressure area in the Gulf of Mexico may developed into trouble for the Gulf states next week.
