Rarely do we take possession of a vehicle that's in a completed or perfectly 'finished' state. We as humans need to express our unique individuality through the addition of however subtle nuances to our machines, be it a chrome license plate frame or major engine mods.

I'm starting this thread to encourage members to post the modifications they've made to their bikes that make each their own, not only for others to appreciate, but also in hopes of sparking creativity and presenting new ideas. "Have pride in what you ride". lol

I'll start this off with a custom air cleaner set up that i fabricated out of necessity. I have perused a hundred photos of Big Dogs and couldn't find a single bike with the same dual carbs jutting out the side that mine has.

I searched in vain for something to replace the (ugly) k&n air filters but no one offered anything. I found a dual air filters into a single carb kit that i liked and visualized it on my bike. Even if i screwed it up i figured it was worth the $129 to try.

The carbs were so close together i had to cut the filter housings and join them together since spreading the carbs apart wasn't an option. I'm sure some will like and some will hate.

If you want something similar, I'll be happy to assist you or fabricate something for you. I'm pleased with the outcome and think it's 'sick' in a good way. You be the judge... Peace, Chris

Looks good, but you should move the thread from “introduction” ...

I checked out the chat room suggestion and it seems the initial thread would get buried quickly. It seems more appropriate to have it as a topic since it's meant to be a compilation of mods and not a series of responses to which infinite tangents can be pursued...

I see where customizing and add ons would be suitable, but it seems more of a categorized collection of technical subject matter that gets expanded upon. My intention was to create a place for quick posts of mods made including a short description and pics. Mine was lengthy because it was the initial post, but i figured subsequent submissions would be smaller and not responded or replied to other than 'liked'. I figured someone had done such a thing already but couldn't find it. lol.

I know it looks like it does but no it doesn't. I reckon if my legs were any longer (5'10") it would touch but the footpeg positions the foot out far enough.

A man after my own heart, That's exactly what I mean we need to express our personality through the little things that make our bikes ours! the one of a kind things that mean nothing to the next guy but it does to you. It took me a long time to make my wife understand that, and I am not very good at expressing myself through words so thank you for words well put.

I know what your saying I lowered mine about half an inch but can't go anymore because I pack the wife, but if I didn't I would go a little lower it rides and handles better to me nice big I thought you already did the belt drive or was that the pit?

I have no idea. I believe so but i haven't taken them apart to see. I was told they are perfectly synchronized though. I observed the throttle plates and it seems like the primary carb on the outside opens up first (and controls the idle) and the secondary kicks in with more throttle. The bike moves out!
