Anyone have a good source on all the parts to convert from a belt to a chain final drive?

Lol, trying to gather all the info I need to start narrowing things down and order some parts. If anyone has pointers and suggestions, I appreciate any help.

Why chain drive? Just asking as I’m only two years into v-twins after years on chain driven Jap crutch rockets.

:agree: Belt drive is far superior and easier

Well, for one, I just ordered Shinko tires and want to make sure I have room. Second, I just like the chain look better. Third, I used to ride with a guy who had a Buell. He broke belts all the time on that bike, and it’s a lot lighter and weaker than my Ridgeback. I don’t like breaking down on the road...

I thought I saw one before, but couldn’t find it after half an hour of searching...

Should I just keep it all in one thread? I can do that if it help. A lot of forums prefer seperate threads for different questions, so that’s what I went with.

Maybe he was doing something wrong? I haven’t done much with the belt drives in years, but I know and am comfortable with chains.

I’ll try again. Maybe autofukup screwed me around and I didn’t catch it.

If I’m throwing this much at it, it won’t ever be for sale. Well, outside of someone throwing stupid amounts of money in my face.

I hope you get it done, too each his own. Keep the thread updated if you do get into converting it, would be cool to see.

I found chopsteak from 2012 doing it to the same bike. I’ll look for Marv’s thread.

Well, I think I have found pretty much what I need. The problem is, I don’t know which front sprocket to get to match the splines on this trans. Anyone know the correct PBI .500 offset 24t sprocket for the 05 Ridgeback?

As have i.. neither had issues and as a matter of a fact as some of you know my uncle was a too dog over at big bear and he is the one that told me to look into big dog and that was one of the many reasons he listed. All of my rockets had chains and it was a pain in the ass.. jmo
