My ride is an '06 Mastiff.

Currently have just over 5000 miles on it.
Only mods are the BR pipes and the subsequent jetting change.
Other mods this winter will be a differant air filter setup.

This machine is so freakin reliable I just want to ride it all the time.
And yes, at times it is rode hard, in all weather conditions, yet these bikes are desinged to be ridden. Water and road grime is no problem for my dog.

Thomas, our local Steel Dreams expert wrench found the handlebars had bad bushings and promptly fixed this non problem.
Yes, my speedo jumps around a bit and fogs up everywhere we go, but, I really only look at the odometer to remind me to fill up, so for me, this is also a non issue.
The reliability of these bikes let us ride to events do the things we want to do with our Bros.

Who else has had an absolutly positive experience with their Big Dog?

Yes, I have...4,500 trouble-free miles on my '05 Chopper and love this bike! My 2003 Harley - a 100th Anniv. CVO Screamin' Eagle Roadking w/103ci - sits in the garage a LOT. I break it out when going on the long trips, but for the typical short trips of <150 miles a day...I'm on the Big Dog. There no comparison on the "fun (adrenaline) factor" between the two - the Chopper wins every time! This bike starts right up and runs like a champ, with plenty of "giddy-up!" to blow most Harleys off the road. Yep, I'm happy with my Dog!

Still breaking in but great ..

Closing in on 1,000 miles on my 07 Mastiff and so far no big problems, I did notice as the miles rack up it runs better and better - go figure.

I have a question .. I installed a Pressure gauge and still have the oil pressure switch as well. When I start it up pressure reads about 30psi and as it warms or at idle about 15-20psi. When I run it hard for 10 or 15 miles say at 2500-3000 rpms when I come to a stop the pressure reads 0 psi, if I give it some gas it goes to maybe 15psi -- the pressure switch is working fine. Is this normal??? my HD would drop to 7psi at low idle. I am now concerned there may be something wrong with the oil pump that causes it to lose pressure when hot. Thanks Guys!! if your ever in the Central Florida area lets have a beer!

I got over 9000 enjoyable miles in 8 months and I love it!!! Some of my bud tease me that they have to ride sweap behind me to catch the parts but the only thing that I have broke is the sissy bar bolts ( at least 10, just warenteed) Same guys teasing me got to ride it and had the biggest shit eating grin I have ever seen, think they're jealous.

I would start out checking the screen and then the gauge, 0 PSI is not good. Mine is usually about 10-15 after it warms up.

Just hit 5,000 on my ridgeback. Bike has been amazing--the ride is unbeatable. All other bikes feel like scooters. Best purchase of my life. :D

I have a little over 3000 adrenilin pumping, mostly trouble free, miles on mine and love that 05 BD chopper and from the comments I get, so do many other riders and the public in general. If I had to do it over again I definitely would.

    re

Over 7000 miles now and it's never stranded me. Only electrical problem was taken care of by a service bulletin regarding the start switch. I did have valve guide trouble but BD fixed that problem.

17k on my 03 and like my dad would say, "just weld the hood shut and go!"

I realize that's low for an 03 but I'm trying!

Seems they keep having all these wars and such and I'm not one for being left out of the party so I've been gone a bit since I got her!!:D

Only had one mechanical issue which I quickly fixed with some zip ties...:D

When I first posted this thread, I was very happy with my Dog. Now, rolling into winter I gotta say, I have not had one problem (cept 5 times stopped by the Police, but they always just want to look at the bike), this freakin thing is so reliable. Also, I think all the NW bikes have been flawless this summer.

    Thanks Big Dog!!

This has been a good summer.

Well, I do love off roading and just because that road was paved, it actually could have qualified for a mini baja race course it was so full of pot holes. We wull not be taking that route again!

Gas Man may not have survived that road. jk Gas

And yet, the Dawgs were flawless on the 950 miles in 48 hours with last 400 miles in a torrential downpour. Who says Dogs dont like water?

Just over 4k miles of heart pounding, head turning, trouble free miles of awesome riding. I wouldn't think twice about buying it all over again.
