My goal is still April 15th. I'm so snowed under with work, I only get a couple hours here and there to work on it. It would be nice to have it done before I have to run down to Texas to see my mama, but I wasn't planning on it this year.

Yea, when I first got the bike, I was building it for someone else. The wiring was all hacked up, and the cheapest way to get it running was to hard wire it. All my switches on the handle bars ground the relays.

I thought some would like to see the proper way to install the paint saver ring.
First before removing the tape out of the hole, I trimmed the paint back to bare metal. After removing the tape I noticed that the vent tube had come loose from the neck.
Welding it wasn't an option at this point, so I drilled a small hole next to the tube, and put a screw in it. Which I managed to drop in the tank, 3 times.
Sorry this picture is blurry. What it is, I sealed the edge of the paint with black silicone, and let it dry.
After that is dry, I added a 1/4'' bead around the hole.
And installed the ring and paint saver. Torque spec is good and snug. and wipe off any excess silicone that squeezes out.
After that dries, at least 24 hours, you can install the gas cap.

You might want to PM mr. BBChopper, he has done some very nice custom caps for reasonable price.

I don't think he doing anymore. I tried to get him to make me some threads, and he said he didn't have time anymore. The problem I'm having, is for the last 17 years, I've only made threads with a CNC machine, and I haven't had time to play with my machine I have now, to get the threads right. Someday soon hopefully.

Got quite a bit done this weekend in between OPS. All I have left is polish out the front wheel, bleed both the front and rear brakes, right foot peg, adjust drive belt, fire it up to check clutch adjustment, and put the outer primary support bearing plate on.
Seat is almost done too. I'll still have to make a bracket for the back rest. And remount all my bags.

Very nice Shannon and I dig this color more than the green, no offense. She looks sweet.
