Triple Tree's

I have noticed on some of the Big Dog Mastiffs (and maybe other models) the top triple Tree's are smooth. There is no bolt on top that would screw into the legs. Why is that?

Most of them are probably inverted forks

Check out the upper Tree's.

So with that type of triple tree the forks will have caps screwed into the to of the upper.
The forks are threaded into the triple tree and held in with a set screw

Bringing an old thread back to life. So are there any aftermarket trees that fit our bikes? Not sure how to ask this...what size neck or whatever info would I use to search trees that fit my bike?
