True that -- putting a TC filter on an EVO makes a bloody mess of things! I know! Had it happen on my 918ST, puked oil all over the place for 2 days before we figured out what it was! (Wrong filter in the box!)yes the 170 is for EVO style and the 171 is for twin cam. DO NOT get them mixed up.

I replaced the rubber ring twice, still makes a mess.K&p brand won’t leak, maybe try replacing the rubber seal on it if it’s similar to the k&p you can replace them

I have a K&P filter and am planning on going back to the 170-c next oil change.Give the authentic K&P a try I have one on my coyote never a problem.
me too! It comes with no instructions, I have never torqued a oil filter, first hand tighten as I do with the K&N no leaks, but noticed leaking and tightened with wrench and got a little better but still weepsI have a K&P filter and am planning on going back to the 170-c next oil change.
