02 Pro Sport wont start....

I have been working on my bike for a couple of months putting new led lights on, a new battery and I sent the tank out to get relined. I got it all back together and it will not start. It just kicks over and does not even try to start. I suspect it might be a wire back by the battery but I cant find anything. It puked a lot of oil out of the puke tube when trying to start it.

Anybody got any suggestions what to look for.

Oh well I must have found something because it just started. What a wire mess that is by the battery.

Just a thought, but did ya make sure that ALL the connections under the tank are good and secure? When you messed with the wires around the battery, ya might have moved a connection just enough to get it to run. It’s possible that it might quit again if they’re not tight

There are so many wires by the battery its ridiculous. On the negative side there are like 5-6 wires that go on the post and 4-5 on the positive side. Is there any safe way to consolidate them into one? On my boat when I added extra batteries and stereo equipment I installed bus bars and then ran one wire to the battery. But there is no room for bus bars on the motorcycle. Maybe just bolt all of the small negative wires together and run one wire off to the battery post?
