The OEM plastic connector shouldn't melt as the current is much lower BUT I would still replace it when you got it apart anyways just incase. No reason not to put a ceramic one in the headlight regardless. Who knows once you get it apart it could have been replaced anyways already.

It's got the same exact light output/Lumens (4000) so it's got the same brightness as the sunpie. It actually doesn't list it's lowbeam on the website.

The light pattern on the daymaker probably makes it seem less but it's the same.

Go mine today, installed, looks great. Got the 2018 $42 one, chrome, and plug an play setup. Like the pattern instead of a full beam, lays with the land, gives more shoulder lighting.
 
Went out today and now I don't have hi or low beam lights. Waiting for the ceramic connector to come b4 I open it up & install the Daymaker. Hopefully its not a bigger issue. To be continued.....
