You should use a luggage rack for that, I scratched my fender by not using one.

Correct get a luggage rack under that before you go anywhere!!! I keep a T-Bag on my bike at all times. Luggage rack is essential

I used to have a connect there and got mine from them, as well as my sissy bar pad and p pad.. a lot of people don't even know they sell used big dog stuff.. I paid 80 for my luggage rack and 60 for my p pad and the same for my sissy bar pad..
