Hey everyone. I’ve been searching all over the site but coming up empty. I took off my v&h 2-2 and my new 2-1 should be here in the next few days. Now I’m curious how I get the flanges over the studs. With the 2-2 it was easy. Of course because each side came off individually. And ideas or input.

don't know for sure, but, would say that the head pipes are still individual and the aft section will connect onto the head pipes with it all being covered by the heat shields.

Should line right up. Make sure you use new gaskets and don't get too torque crazy on the head studs--they can strip out of the head. Get it on and put both nuts on a few turns on both sides and then get the bracket on with the bolts. Basically you want to get it all in place with everything loose, and then torque down to spec the nuts on the heads and then the bracket. I like to put the head studs down finger tight and then two turns on each side working back and forth until it's tight. I'm sure there's a specific sequence but that's how i've always done it. Kind of working back and forth until both sides are tight and the bracket is still aligned.

Oh make sure you put some red loctite on the bracket bolts or use good washers/nylocks. They like to work themselves loose.

When I installed a paul yaffee phantom on my pitbull it went on extremely easy! I think I lined up the rear cylinder first then t front make sure the flanges are out of the way and put a thick rag or towel over your cam cover to prevent and scratching
that's my favorite pipe ever made. You don't have it still do you??

I would recommend blue loctite on the bracket bolt. Red can be a Bitch to remove

There is no bracket I’m going to remove those bolts since the pipe floats. I was also wondering if anybody has polished or cut or sanded On pipes that are ceramic coated. Would it do any harm?

Those are cool pipes! Who makes them?

And I can't tell from the pic, but you're playing with fire if that bike isn't strapped to the lift.

I am drawing a blank on his name but it’s Exotic choppers. He made them and it took about a month till they were in my hands. He was awesome to work with.
