Having an issue with wheel hop

i'm having an issue between 70 and 80 mph. My new front tire will start to bounce at just over 70 mph and just at 80 mph it stops. Then it's smooth as ice. is there a such thing as too much with the beads?

I've got about 300 miles on it, but I think it's probably done it since it was new. I guess I've got to order another tire.

You triple check your tire pressure? Mine will do that if it's not damn near 42lbs under 40 it gets a little hop

Yes, that's why I was asking if you could put too much in the tire. I was thinking it was the tire.

It was at 30 psi . I'm not taking anything to that shop again. I had them change the front wheel bearings and the tire, while they had it. My bad for not checking the pressure when they gave me the wheel and tire to put on the bike.

This is my first cruiser, all my previous bikes were crotch rockets, so a low tire just made it sluggish in the turns (very noticeable with just a few psi).

I've had my front tire as low as 25psi only to feel is was tough to turn never got a hop or wobble
You gotta go faster than 70 ..lol..

It's just a little hop and you can't really feel it but if your looking at the tire you can see it. Might not actually happen on your old pitbull actually just because there is more weight on the front end. I bet it doesn't on the prostreets just because of that. Longer bikes just don't have much weight on the front tire.

Give it a try on your k9..and it's usually about 68mph - 77mph it just has a little bounce it's not smooth. Again you gotta be looking at it you won't really feel it

Was talking to a guy this morning before I left Dave's that was having the same problem. They broke the tire down and took the beads out, the spun balanced it. They did it 3 times and with out any beads in it, it was perfectly balanced. Put it back on the bike, and wheel hop was gone. Could be something to that.

I wonder about the Dyna beads too..sometimes something like this where there is only a hop at a certain speed makes me wonder if it's the Dyna beads causing the issue and for whatever reason If the pressure in the tire isn't >40lbs it messes with how they move around.

? How is that not true? If you have a shorter stance and less rake there is more downforce created on the front end.

Not to mention the rims, tires and fender are heavier on the mastiff and pitbull due to the width. So there certainly is more weight on the front end.

So if its out there far enough there won't be any weight at all on it right?
