Speedometer problems on Pitbull 2002 VDO

Hello HMAN :) So it can be like that. A baker gearset in a Jims case :O Do you know why it is like that? Just interested. I have a 5speed tranny.
They did a lot of things that dont seem to make sense, but yeah. I discovered my Jims case when I tore the bike down. I have the 6 speed. I think it was just a $$ move. Cheaper to buy the gearset than the assembled trans? I know Baker is proud of their product line... lol

Good luck with the speedometer.
Probably better to purchase NOS when available, but pricey.

My 02 Pitbulls 5 speed has a Jims Case, Primo Rivera Cluth and who the hell knows what gear set is in the case.

This was good info :) Now I can be quite sure it is an original gearbox...... with unknown manufacturers gearset :D

Problems solved :D :D

I was lucky when I took off the old old speedo and I took it to our local "small electronics Guru" for checking out if there is something to be done with it. He took the speedo apart and noticed that one condensator inside was leaking and that was the reason for the problems. He replaced it with new one. Then I ordered a new rubber reset button from wild steed workx (great service by the way :) ) to prevent water getting inside and now it seems the speedo is working like a charm :)

Thank you guys for help :) :old2:

It would of been nice if Big Dog utilized the same transmission manufacturers throughout their production. I have to say though, Jims and Andrews are reputable companies.

Hi :)

If you will go to the dakota digital let me know how it worked out and if there was any difficulties with installation.
