Didn't Matt just do this with the newer Pitbull tires? and the minimum run was $100KWhy don't you guys call Avon and ask about custom run for your tires? They may say 100 or 5000 tires, but then you would at least know...
Some where in that ballpark it was so you are talking like 333 tires at $300 bucks a pop....thats a lot of tires and a lot of buckosDidn't Matt just do this with the newer Pitbull tires? and the minimum run was $100K
I imagine the 100k run is the smallest since they probably have to change tooling on the machines and shit. Not to mention the down time that creates for Avon. That will totally kill the value of the bikes those are not the easiest bikes to modify for a different tire size...
Already talked to Avon.they said they broke the moldWhy don't you guys call Avon and ask about custom run for your tires? They may say 100 or 5000 tires, but then you would at least know...
I once looked at the conversions, there wasn't any obvious and easy options. If I remember correctly.I imagine the 100k run is the smallest since they probably have to change tooling on the machines and shit. Not to mention the down time that creates for Avon.
Even if folks are willing to spend $500-600 on a tire that is still a minimum order of 200+ tires.
Not to mention where the hell do you store them?
Now I don't condone this but is there an applicable car tire to go dark side? For anyone that might not be familiar with dark siding. .

So now you all can forget the group buy from them...Already talked to Avon.they said they broke the mold
Can't blame him..getting stuck with 100 tires sucks he has to pay to store them.. I bet he still sitting on 100 pitbull tires in a container in the parking lot.I just called Matt, and he was interested in an approach in which he would not get stuck with the entire investment lug for a run of tires. He liked the idea of in essence 'pre-selling' a bunch of them.
He will go back to his emails and records and see what is needed to get Avon to tool up and do it, and go from there.
Apparently Avon destroyed the molds for those tires, so they will have to re-make more to do a run of tires.
Matt said he would get some numbers together and post them on the Forum.
Didn't someone say a little while ago that there were only 70 something Wolf's made? Some where in that ballpark it was so you are talking like 333 tires at $300 bucks a pop....thats a lot of tires and a lot of buckos

Its not the same, we can get tires so it don't matter if they made 1 of each, 300's are available. All the same how many mastiffs were built in 07 or pitbulls in 06
Probably 700-800 mastiffs that year alone and same amout of pitbulls. Lots of bikes. There was 20,000 built and most were built from 04-08All the same how many mastiffs were built in 07 or pitbulls in 06
Thanks for the advice man, I'll look into it.I don't know what kind of attic temps get over there but if I was trying to keep the tire the attic doesnt sound good. I'd keep it in a closet in a conditioned space. Humidity and drastic temp changes can't be great for the rubber.
I would also put it in a vacuum sealed bag since your trying to keep it for more than just 4-5 years. Just being exposed to the air the tire will begin to dry out as the oils are drawn out.

They sell them only in sets of 4 maybe a few of you guys can split them up so it will only be like $25 a pop which is reasonable.
I ran a 12 year old tire that came on my low mileage 2004 and was an Avon Venom back when Avon made long lasting tires. On year 11 it looked new by year 12 it was all cracked and no longer felt that the integrity of the rubber was where it needed to be.
