Seat redone while in leesburg

Had my seat redone by the upholstery man while in leesburg and I am super happy with it. He is my friends brother and did a great job. Had a gel insert added and had him move me forward a couple inches as well. It came out great and with the rigid I could go a hundred or so miles before starting to feel it, I did a hundred this morning and don't feel any discomfort so well worth it!IMG_1502.JPGIMG_1501.JPGIMG_1503.JPG

Was it a black guy named Roy? If so, he is one hell of a leather worker. He lives in longwood and fixed my 41 yr old vest so it almost looks new. I was ready to take the patches off and throw it away.

I don't normally comment when I don't have something positive to say...but someone has to be honest with you. Whatever you gained in comfort and I hope its alot...you lost 10x that in style. The guy didn't contour the seat at all where it steps down and in my opinion did you wrong. Again I'm sorry but I feel compelled to give you some honest feedback. Your bike is a work of art. Now when anyone sees it parked their eye is going straight to that squared off seat and it's negative impact on the lines of the bike. Again this is only MY opinion, but I think you'll find many others of the same mindset if they have the courage to be honest with you. Now everyone can let me have it for giving negative feedback but soneone has got to let you know how bad the visual impact of that seat is to your beautiful bike. I am glad you're happy with it but I think over time that will change. Once again i'm sorry but someone has to be straight up with you and I know I'll regret that it was me.

I can understand what Demon Dog is saying about the seat being different and the contour not quite the same as original. If you know your BigDogs any thing you do to it will stick out but that's why we buy them, we make them our own.
I like it on that bike. I like the softer seat and the back support.
I might have done things differently and brought the flames down into it or...
nothing wrong with it, it's your, enjoy it. It's cool.

I love the colors but there is something about the flow that doesn't look right to me. If you love it that's all that matters and if you don't it's an easy fix.

Thanks Brother, I used to be the only one. We actually checked out his bike while the so called seatmakers were yelling, screaming, and making this seat. If it was mine I would have killed them for making my two up seat looking like this. If it was an extra seat, I would have smacked this seat in their face and asked for some money for compensation of lost time. The seat is butt ugly, but the rest of the bike is beautiful.

For the last 5 years I've been running around with an ugly seat, but it was conformable, very conformable. That's all that mattered, and I didn't care what others thought, it was my bike. Yours looks really comfy, and the girl your ridding on the back of that Ridge, won't be to sore to ride later, and that's all that matters.

When you put something on the forum you are open to others opinions, good or bad, that's the way it is. If you like it that's all that's important, its your bike.
In the words of another great member on here, he once said if we all liked the same thing we would all be sleeping with the same woman.:panic:

Having seen the girls JR hangs out with, that is not totally bad idea....

I agree.
Riding 700-900 miles a day (sometimes for several days) comfort is very very important. It is your ride, make it your own and we appreciate the share of your custom seat
