Like I said, great minds think alike! That's why I haven't torn mine down in 9 years, I fix it if/when it starts to go bad.
I'm not in front of it all the time, occasionally I have to switch the laundry from the washer to the dryerYesterday was my heavy laundry day1. It gives me something to do in the winter, besides sitting in front of the computer all the time.
Good mentality for preventative maintence.I've explained this several times. I tear down every two years. I do this for several reasons. 1. It gives me something to do in the winter, besides sitting in front of the computer all the time. I do my wife's bike on the even years. 2. Because it's so easy to disassemble and redo, I'll take her all the way to the frame. Then think up a wild paint job, because it is advertisement for me. 3. Because I ride so hard. My Dog is like a work dog, not a refined Poodle, She's rode hard and put up wet alot of times. She will be clean the next time I take her out, but the bug guts in the hard to reach areas just seem to build up. The only time she really wet, is when were riding in the rain. 4. Well I could go on all day, but I have things to get done today. When she goes back together, she will have fresh seals, oil, tires, paint, polished aluminum, fresh locktight on all the bolts. Basically a new bike.
And yes Eric, this years paint is going to be bright. It's a special red I mixed up several years ago. The first time I painted that color, I had to put a dark color flame on it, but this time I'll do a darker ghost flame. That's all the spoiler you get.
You must be one of the few.. everyone here likes to talk trash because my pegs r wore out and I go through a set of tires at least once a year.. they were meant to be rode.. not polished all the time.. some of these guys spend more time polishing then riding.. psh!!
