I seem to be the only one running a Mikuni carb. I have a TP 107, K&N round air cleaner, hooker 2 into 1 with adjustable baffle running wide open, 22.5 pilot jet, 175 main, standard needle in middle slot, idle adjustment set at 1.75, with accelerator pump set at 0 for immediate activation.
Runs great.

I have a stock 03 Chop. Recently changed the S&S air filter to a K&N and had some decel popping, and loss of throttle response. Bike had stock jets 29.5 and 70 and ran great with S&S filter, plugs were a tad light, but bike ran great.

So I bumped them both up to 31 and 72. Immediately the decel popping was gone and throttle response was back. However, seat of my pants, I don't think there is any difference with the K&N....in fact I think it ran a tad harder/faster with the other filter and jets. Perhaps I just need to get the carb just right. Bike does run really good right now, just not sure if it's any better than before? I'll probably just leave it as is...and send the carb to XXX soon! :)

Hey guys... I'm in Fl... getting some popping on decel... Running stock carb/air cleaner & VH 2-2 big radius. I had Carl's Speed Shop jet the carb for the pipes. They basically told me "they just do that with that set up" when I asked them how to eliminate the popping. I have a hard time believing this. They installed 31/76. Does this sound about right? Bike is all stock other then the pipes... 08 k9. I rode it once (when checking it out before buying it) in OH when it had the stock jets....it popped a bit, but I figured that conditioned would be cured after Carl's did their work, but it didn't seem to pop nearly as much then as it does now. Any thoughts? I read a thread about vacuum caps dry rotting, but I don't know where to find them to check them out. Any help would be much appreciated.

Vacuum Caps are located right on top of the Carb, it´s black and it´s hold in place by a small zip-tie.

See the black thing on top?

Yep...thanks! Found it. Is this something I could pickup from Harley, or would I have to go to S&S for it? I just took the bike out today... I've never ridden any other Big Dogs do I don't know how it should behave...that being said, I feel like it hesitates to much...

07 K9. Just bought it and it came from sea level to 3500 feet above. It has the wimmer twin spike air cleaners and V&H big radius exhaust, no baffles. I took the float bowl off yesterday and it had the stock 295/74 jets. I fattened it up with a 32/78 but still seems lean according to the plugs. At 65 mph it spits and splutters quite a bit. Yes I readjusted the idle mixture and accel pump after rejet. Do I need to up the intermediate jet some more to rid the sluggishness? It seems to run fine at 3000 rpm but kinda falls on its face between 2000 and 3000

Typical transition between jets.... go up on the Air Bleed jet.... go to a 60.

No need to go up on the Inter jet?... I am at Sea level and with the 32 is just fine... you are higher so... you should go no bigger than 31/32... which it´s the recommended for the V&H exhaust... (and maybe 76/78 in the Main) but again... every bike is a bit different.
