Low Down Chop Shop
Here is a quick fix for the BDM license plate light water damage problem. The plate frame gets water in it easily and can't drain it. So, I came up with a drain fix to get the water out of the LED panel area.
If you remove your plate trim frame and remove the LED light mount from the main panel/bracket via the two bolts on the under side it will look like this:
Now, you can see in that pic that the water sits in that little wire groove and can't get out and eventually corrodes the LED board. I took and used my Dremel with a small ball end bit and cut a drain groove out to the lower side of the frame (you can see it in the lower left corner where the water sits)
Also, after installing I sealed up the top groove where the wire comes down so that water can't get in like before:
I then, before puting it all back together sprayed the entire curcuit board with the marine silicone conformal coating by TECHSPRAY (2102-12S Fine-L-Kote SR) Stuff works great and I coated all my boards on my bike:
