Maro, have you looked to see if you have the heads that are already tapped and have a large plug (bolt) where you would install the releases?
It might be a long shot but early on BDM used a lot of different components to manufacture the bikes. My 02' was ready for the releases. I just had to pull the plug and install the releases.

After researching batteries, I got rid of my old Big Boar and got one of them. Spins that 107 over like nobody's business and I have no compression releases. Definately the way to go!
