On the price. You need to contact Jim. He does great deals for Big Dog owners. If we post the price we got ours for could cause him some aggravation with other owners that don't own a BDM. So contact him and tell him you are a BDM owner and see what he can do for ya.

On the chrome part. I got mine from him in polished aluminum and sent it to the chrome shop.
Jim is so much fun to talk to and he has a vast amount of knowledge.

He talked me out of the more expensive 5". I said okay then send the 4". I am now glad that I did not get the 5", That would have drug on each and every corner. He saved me money and was very honest.

I want 1 too,, I wonder since I got a pitbull (hard tail) it sits pretty low to the ground.. will it drag more than the softail.?? I had a real time with my V&H big radius on the right turns.. I got rid of them.. I would think this would be worse in left hand turns...

Trainguy, you made me feel better about my lie to my wife.

The first time she seen it I told her that I had friend of mine named Jim Karata cut the enclosed primary up and made this thing. I said I had to change the sprockets from chain to belt and I just used different seals. So far she has not asked about the Karata dude on the inner plate.
Frome enclosed to open.

I think the guy did a freakin awesome job cutting up my stock closed primary.....LOL

Quick Service

Kudos to Jim for quick service. The unit arrives this afternoon. Two days, can't beat that. I will post a few pic although it will be later in March, bike still in storage. Damn PA weather, now another storm is coming. At least I will have some time to read up on the instructions and look it over.

Easy install. Just watch your that the motor plate sits flush on to the tranny. Basically just need to loosen trans bolts to square up. Pulley alignment is critical. His front shim is damm close if not right on the money. If you got the jr clutch your ok, I upgraded and you need to lengthen your push rod 1".

Hey Bigbass, how does the bike take left corners now. I've been looking at open primaries for a while and trying to decide on which size I want to get. Looking at possibly getting a 3" instead of 4" anyone have any inputs? Thanks

Just curious. Did Jim say it was ok to have it chromed? I thought I read on here one time it caused problems. That's one of the reasons I haven't bought one yet. I want chrome
