Spark plugs

This has been asked many times on the forum. This link gives a list of all the different plugs you can use. Its the top list on the page (twin cam).

I have used HD, Screamin Eagle, NGK and Champions and noticed no difference with any of them. Print it and put it in your manual.

Do the 107's and 117's use the same plugs? And why twin cam and not EVO? Just curious...Someone should sticky this!

Moe, BDM introduced the new SSW motor in 05 and it has the Twin Cam top end with the internal breathing system. It also uses the smaller Twin Cam plugs.

Remember,there's NO magic in more expensive spark plugs.
We've done A/B dyno testing,and found NO difference between stock(Champion/OEM),and all the supposed pricey "performance" plugs.

I generally do that.I try to get them as close as possible,buttttttttttttt sometimes it's hard.NOT TO DISCOURAGE,no real difference on street motors.

I had been thinking the bike ran better with the original plugs than with the new ones. A couple months ago I decided it was time even thou the plugs looked fine after 4500 miles, and seem to have the right mix of jets and pipes. I never changed the jets for the Bassini pro street pipes. Now that I have a set of Big Bertha 2-1 I picked up a new set of plugs for the hell of it. They handed me a set of NGK BPR5ES-11. I've been running them for 500 or so miles. Pulled them yesterday because the bike seemed to run a little cold.....popped a little more....etc but not that it ran much different. They looked fine except for small spot on both plugs, maybe 5%, where there was a carbon/black sooty spot. I put the Champion 12YC back in and I don't know if it is my imagination or not, but the bike seemed to run better. I'm going to put a few more miles before forming a opinion. Champion plugs never impressed me as a quality plug in cars or bikes. I am going to keep my eye on this thread and listen to comments or experiment a bit on my own.

I went from the champions to an NGK (cuz I always had good luck with NGK) and I have to warm up an excessive amount of time now. I also get more pop on the downshift. Went back to the Original Champions last week (13kmi) and the dog ran great. All those plugs needed was to be cleaned and re-gapped.
