TRANSMISSION LEAK AT DRAIN

I need some advice, I have an 07 Mastiff with a small leak at the transmission drain, it has been there for some time, it was more of a seep and only leaked when riding. I decided to do my own service per GASMAN's great HOW TO. When I drained the transmission there was some evidence of sealer around the drain, so when I replaced it, I added some silicone to the drain plug before replacing, it didn't work, the leak is worse now.

Anyone have any ideas, the drain plug is very hard to get to because both oil lines are routed right under it

Have you tried teflon tape on the plug threads?

blacktopper is an unknown quantity at this point
Are you sure the seal is not leaking and the oil is running down to the plug?

there is an o-ring I beleive, I will check that tomorrow and as for as the seal, no it is not leaking, I cleaned that area so that i could verify where the leak is coming from.

I will have to wait till Tuesday to get a new o-ring and teflon tape, I will try both and report back

Thanks for the help and advice

I had put some silicone on the threads before reinstalling drain plug, I beleive that set up overnight and so far no leak after 40 miles today

thanks everyone

Don't forget to recheck the oil level in the gearbox.
