Well, I guess those with dual coils aren't doing any riding.....
I'd sure like to know how the painted coils hold up against keys flopping in the wind..

That's not my concern-I don't know about others, but I have more than one key on my bike key ring, brake lock, etc.

If that is a concern you could get one of the key chains that has two loops on it. Keep all the bike keys on the chain. Disconnect the bike key from the chain when you are riding and when you get to where you are going just snap them back together. I think you could find one for a couple bucks somewhere. Some thing like these.

I've thought about that---maybe it's not a big deal-just would hate to scratch the shit out of the chrome or paint. The way I see it-anything attached to the key could cause marks-sorry that I even asked-

You are right. Maybe best off with just the key.

Hey guys...sorry for the time lapse...I have been traveling.

I run only one key so its not an issue for me....I am not sure how many parts and pieces we used to make the mount complete...we put stuff on...looked at it...took it off...made some holes longer for fit etc...

I have ridden a a few miles and I still think its my best mod to date as far as $$ goes...

Bike is with Bruce in Greensboro now getting some work done...cant wait to see it after he's done...

You guys have fun in Daytona...ride safe.

f-okie, how is the offset on that mount? Does it provide enough clearance between the coils and the cylinder hear?

Thanks and look great

Thanks Master Chief--I think there's lots of room. At the closest point, there's approx. 1/2" between the cylinder and coils.

Thanks, that's the Cheasepeak unit isn't it? I like that version of the coil mount.

Yes, Mike is great to work with, and made me a hell of a deal. Now my coil mount matches my levers. I got the motor mount from Vulcan (#3141) and it comes with a spacer block to get the coil mount out away from the cylinders. Had my pin stripper put the "POW MIA" on the coils, then clear coated it with engine enamel.

Mike at Chesapeake Performance gave me a deal on the coil mount ($120 plus shipping), the motor mount and coils from Vulcan Works (p/n 3141, $119) and coils (3 OHM Dyna Single Tower Coils- Black Part #: 4239 - $101) I re-used my stock key and stock frame to motor mount bracket, and about $25 for chrome bolts and washers.
In the "how to" section, was a wiring diagram for the dual coils.
Piece of cake
