Pushrod adjustment
Phatass / Chacha thanks for the instructionals on the Pushrod adjustment. My 2005 mastiff 117 is a lot quieter now and I feel better about it being mechanically sound. When I purchased the bike I immediately took it to the shop for a good look over and any maintenance that needed to be done. Now as a result of the wealth of information and knowledgeable folks on this site I'm pretty confident I can do all the maintenance myself. I definetely am a financial supporter of this website and encourage anyone else who has benefited from this site to support it financially.

Anytime....past anything ya learn up here and most everyone can wrench their own rides.
Pushrods are intimidating for some, but if you do it once, you see it's not hard, you'll be glad you did and you'll be ready for more.

Good. Keep you on your toes.

EOIC means; Exhaust Opens/Intake Closes. This means; As soon as you see either one move, you stop moving the crank. So if the exhaust begins to open, you stop and now set the intake valve. When the intake begins to close, you immediately stop and set the exhaust valve's push rod. Deconfusing The EOIC Memory Mantra: As Soon As Exhaust Openstop Intake Closestop As Soon As Exhaust Openstop Intake Closestop As Soon As Repeat EOIC Mantra P.S. This is how NASCAR sets their push rods. It positions the cam's heel at its [lowest point] for that valve to be adjusted. |
