i guess it really depends on whether or not you have someone that can mount the tires and if they will not charge you more since you didn't buy the tires from them. either way, get yourself some "dyna beads" from bdmridgeback(i think) to do the balancing. screw the fugly weights.

I have a guy who will put them on for me. I just need to find a good price. I will take a look at Ebay.

I will be getting some dyna beads for sure.

You can check JP Cycles, but i don't know if you will get much of a deal. They advertise all sizes, but i'm not sure about their availability.

how many miles do you have on your bike? Just curious, I have 10,000 + and my rear tire is still good with plenty of meat but my front is getting close to the wear bar. Strange but true

Hey Mick, I wonder why my front is worn down so bad and my rear is still with plenty of tread at 10,313 and your rear is down to the indicators at 6600 and your front is still like new? That is so reverse and strange. One would think I was doing reverse wheel stands on my front wheel under these circumstances.

Does seem strange that your front wore before the rear. I have heard of people getting 20,000 or more out of the front. Rear tire replacement on Avons seems to be from 7,000 to 10,000. May want to ask your dealer about the front. Is it wearing evenly on the front?

Mick, I did have a tire pressure issue for a while. My front kept losing air very slowly. Found out the valve stem nut wasn't all the way tight. we fixed that around 6000 miles. then I put the dyna beads in both my tires. maybe the low pressure made the front wear down quicker. It's a guess. I baby my bike and never spin the rear tire or panic stop any so I gues that's why my rear is wearing so well.

Very possible the low front tire made it wear quicker. Sure wish I could get 10,000 out of my rear. I'm not that hard on it.

Tires are a wierd thing... just 2 weeks ago I saw Big House's rear tire and it looked good. Then he came back from Mrytle and its a bit more flat, missing aot of tread depth and has this wierd sticky black dirt all over the tread grooves... WIERD!!
