Why ?? you said it, Dog owners are not like everyboby else, we walk by 15 vairations of the same bike to get to OURS, were 2 wheel hot roders and along with owning a hot rod comes alot of tlc & maintenance, If I could afford to I would own 2 more

(Ridgeback & Bagger)

In the four years I have had my HD it has been in the shop about a year, so anyone can have issues.

My yamaha never left me stranded, but you don't see me whining about it all the time.

For me the choice was easy i wanted somthing different, i looked at harleys for about a second n they all looked the same to me, plus i am a bigger guy n when i sat on a harley just felt to small, unless it was a bagger n i just dont care for that style yet. I know the upkeep on a dog is a little more but to me its worth it cause ya very seldom see the same dog weather it is paint, accessories,or somthing else, guess i just wanted to be different than everyone else.

I know these bikes take extra work, but you gotta wipe the smile off your face every time you ride one! My metric bikes are free of problems, but it ain't the same ride.

I run a 7 year old Mastiff and have no complaints other then finding a competent wrench to work on the dog, as there are a lot of OJT wannabes out there who don't know shit about turning wrenches and just want to charge you $$ . When I thought I was having an ECH problem it turned out to be just a broken wire. It was back up in no time, and that event is now a distant memory not worth thinking about.

The smiles, thumbs up, and new friends I meet when out on the road more then make up for any future issues I may have. The only modification I could think of now is go out and buy another bike to share the garage with.

Ride safe and enjoy your Pitbull,

When I was looking for a bike, it just happened that a Big Dog was for sale, at the right price. Really glad I bought this bike, I never looked back. I have owned many Harleys through out the years (been riding since 1970), this is my first Big Dog. As of right now, I am looking for a Ridgeback, to park next to my Pit Bull. I just love the looks of a ridgid. As for me, I would never consider another bike, unless it was a BDM motorcycle. One of my better choices, in life...

Love the BDM, I own a metric that is a show stopper and can be ridden cross country any day, I have owned my share of customs and Indians, and if you want to be different then the rest for the HD sea of sameness you either ride a kick ass custom or a kick ass custom metric, I love HDs but they are all the same unless you spend 20k in catalog extras why bother, buy a Big Dog and do your own thing . I compared my Swift chopper to a 1972 muscle car, I compare my Ridgeback to a 2010 Lembo. High Tech power machine.

Every bike I have slung my leg over for a test ride since I've owned the BD.......has the response of a slug......IMO. Is it without flaws ???? .....probably not. Would I go back to a Harley......very doubtful.

Hey Paul.....sorry about your frustration...I got to tell you though I run the SHIT out of my dog (ridden every friken day) and it keeps on going like the enigizer bunny...I have read all your post since I've joined the website and I agree you've had your share of problems...but with all the repairs you have done I would say your dog should be pretty reliable at this point.....so get out and ride and show off that scoot of yours...
