Chopper Windshield - Should I install ?

I'm considering installing a Big Dog windshield on my Chopper. The BD windshield is about $350; a bit pricey.

I'm wondering if any of you have this one installed and how you like it? Maybe the pros and cons? Does it really keep the wind off the chest and face?

Also, if there is a better aftermarket windshield, let me know about it.

I have one on my K9---about all it does is keep the bugs off of you. Doesn't do much for rain, wind, etc....

Let me be the first to explain if you were to drive a car ,well that would best keep the wind of your chest and face......i thought the whole reason we get bikes is the famous ole sayin THE WIND IN YOUR HAIR........

I believe people should do what they like
but if your asking
I feel they make a bike look weak
myself if i want that much wind protection I would put the top down on my car and ride
I rode my BD yesterday without a wind shield and the temperature outside was a mear 52 degrees and overcast
Ya it was cold and I am 57 with diabeties and too much other stuff wrong that cold does not help
After I got home it felt good to thaw the hands out
But I love to ride without winshield
Thats just me

The BD windshield is a bit pricey

but in my opinion is doesn't take away from look of the bike. As you can already tell here there are those that like them and those that don't. If you are looking to keep the wind and the rain off of your face don't waste your money. But living here in south Georgia it does do a pretty good job of keeping the bugs out of your face.

Bugs in your teeth not cool and face it if your riding your BD you are going to grin. To each his own preference,

just enjoy the ride.

Ihave one on my 04 chopper I like it just make sure it has a curve or lip on top comes from wind vest

I have one on my Mastiff that I use for long runs. I could care less what others think of it. I know that it may not protect me from the rain or wind, but I was looking for that kind of protection I would ride in my truck. I know for a fact that it keep them big ass Texas bugs

off me. Most important to me is that it stops them little rocks that fly off tires from vehicles in front of me. I have been hit on by them before and it hurts like hell especially if you don't have a helmet and them rocks bounce off you forehead.

Sure would hate to lose an eye over not using a shield on the open road. Bottom Line I like mine

It lights up too

Winshields on a chopper???? If i wanted glass in front of me i would drive my truck, Of course thats just my 2 cents !!!

Then again,It's your bike that YOU paid for so do as you wish and feel comfortable doing.

It's your bike, do whatever you want! Personally, I can't add a windshield to my choppers even if I wanted to. My "friends" would immediately beat me to death and then piss on me. Then hang me and the windshield on a pole as an example for others.

Fags have windshields.

If you must have a windshield, give your balls to your wife(if you have one). Also wear your orange vest so cagers can see you. Full face helmet with your headset on for some Barry Manilow. Put blinky lights all over the motor so at night you can say, looky at me. My friends would kill me if I had a windshield. Friends don't let friends ride with windshields.
