brake sensor problem
I took the right handlebar control apart because for the 10th time the idle cable came off again (every time I completely turn the accelerator the cable snap off from the grip) but this time the light brake sensor came out too and now i can't put it back and it is not working. My question is this does the sensor need to go back inside the magnet or just near to it? Or once the sensor come out is not good anymore? Or am I doing anything wrong? Also any idea how to deal with my idle cable problem? Do anybody had the same issue?

Had the same problem with the brake lights.
It was the reed sensor. It just hast to be near the magnet - not touching it. These sensors break very easily - I had to figure out . It happened to me when adjusting the break lever by turning it. When the wires get tensioned, the sensor failes.Just search the internet for hamlin firecracker 59021 - that's what BDM used. Hamlin 59021 Aluminium Minature Firecracker Sensor I installed this one and all was good. Jochen

The magnet is probably ok it just has to be the right distance when you pull the brake lever but not so close the brake light stays on.

I couldn't get to the small screw that keep the sensor in place so I had to take the bike to the shop for other issue and they fix it for me. I bought a new sensor but the shop used the old one so I got a spare one if anybody need it. I think it was $24.

You can see the Reed switch and magnet through the space between the control housing and handlebar. It looks like the below: ![]() If you didn't take the wire out I assume you pulled out a wire off the board which is easy to do on the 04's as they are simply just soldered to the boards.
